“for the people with no people”

August 24, 2010

Ahmad Qaabour is a beautiful enchanting voice that has long chanted the power’s of the weak, the voice of the streets and the sorrows of the society.
a friend shared this song through facebook, and i was more than pleased to listen to it …

Lyrics:

The one who’s sinking in night,
gazing at the stars
hoping that there’s someone thinking of him

and the one that has escaped from the war
and whose fear is way ahead
when she ask about what happened
her mother says: there’s nothing

There’s Death
I scream, but there’s no sound
There’s Death
How do i sing, and i don’t have a voice

I want to sing for the people
that don’t have a crowd
while they are the foundation
But how do i sing? how?

And i want to sing to lands
It’s people are in other lands
who have forgotten the taste of celebration
But how do i sing? how?

Who declares the war
In the name of Human Rights
Declares it in the name of God
While he has sold his God ages ago

Who has changed this earth
to a miserable and scared planet
and stabs her from all sides
and the stab reaches the soul

There’s scars
and the most painful is the scar of the soul
There’s scars
I don’t want to mourn

I want to sing for the people
that don’t have a crowd
while they are the foundation
But how do i sing? how?

I want to sing for children
that’s lives have never seen childhood
and stayed children in this world
But how do i sing? how?

I want to sing for the people
that don’t have a crowd
while they are the foundation
But how? how?

I want to sing for children
that’s lives have never seen childhood
and stayed children in this world
But how? how?

[end]
