Funky Arabs

April 11, 2010

Tension has been rising lately on the arab-isreali conflict. although we have been relatively calm on the war-side for the past few months.
I have a recurring fear of another war breaking through, especially with the growing notion that it may be multiple front one.
In the few Months of relative-peace there has been an outstanding growth in economy, culture, creativity, communication and everything in the region. A sense of virtual unity has been emerging on the social media side as well.
But will that come to abrupt end soon? and will we have to build all over again? or will we want to?

one of my worst figures in the arab media, a singer, Jad Choeuiri and his Funky arabs, that reflect a lots less than a minority in the arab world, and a lot less the opinions, traditions, culture, aims or ambitions of many more.
For a project criticizing Arab Unity, i decided to invade his music video, or part of it, and reflect our dilemma, the two extremes that vandalize our lives. Ironically, these are the only two faces of the Arab World that ever make it to the news: (which two faces, watch the video!)

    thank you,
i feel that we living on the edge of too extremes especially through media coverage and in reality we can survive and will only survive happily if we find an appropriate middle ground that fulfills our culture and dreams.
