Where’s My Bra?
The will to survive is the strongest cure to a cancer patient. Breast cancer patients suffer not only from treatments they have to endure to get rid of their tumor, but also afterwards, trying to re-accommodate themselves into their own skin… With a society highly geared at perfection, the struggle of cancer survivors becomes harder.
Fustany.com [facebook] a very prominent “Fashion Directory & Online Media”, teamed up with One Wig stand [facebook][twitter], “a breast cancer awareness project that shares the stories of.. Lebanese women battling breast cancer through the wigs they wear…” to bring a new sense of pride to survivors of Breast Cancer in the region through: Bras for a Cause [facebook][twitter]
The competition will be open to submissions from May 19, featuring 5 categories:
1. The high-end designers Bras
2. The general best Bra
3. The Bras for Breast Cancer survivors
4. The Bras by emerging designers or others outside the fashion design field
5. The T-shirt design
Selected submissions will be featured in a fashion show event next fall in Beirut & Dubai (woohoo!)
What are u waiting for?! Put your fashion caps on!
(submission guidelines to be announced as they become available, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start getting creative
) More and more information is being revealed on Bras for a Cause facebook page, so like it to stay up-to-date.
P.S. One Wig Stand Organization has been gaining alot of my respect because of it’s great initiatives this year, such as Twestival Beirut in March. I hope to see more from them as this year rolls out!
